Editorial Reviewers

HardHatCalc separates tool engineering from subject-matter review. Two independent academic reviewers verify the content within their declared scopes: one for building physics, thermal insulation, and envelope materials; the other for concrete, aggregates, and structural materials. Each calculator and blog post is assigned to one reviewer based on topic fit. The reviewer credit is surfaced on every page alongside the author bio and is reflected in the page's structured data (reviewedBy on WebApplication and BlogPosting schemas).

Doc. dr. sc. Bojan Milovanović, dipl. ing. građ.Building Physics, Thermal Insulation & Envelope Materials

PhD, Civil Engineering (FCE, University of Zagreb). University of Zagreb, Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE), Department of Materials. Doc. dr. sc. Bojan Milovanović is a docent at the Department of Materials at the University of Zagreb Faculty of Civil Engineering (FCE). His research and teaching cover building physics, thermal performance of building envelopes, insulation and vapour-barrier materials, moisture transport, acoustic wall assemblies, and the fire-resistance behaviour of construction materials applied to structural elements.

Reviews HardHatCalc materials-pillar content on building-envelope assemblies — thermal insulation requirements and R-value targets, vapour and air-moisture barriers, acoustic wall assemblies, exterior siding and underlayment selection, spray-foam application, roof gutter sizing, energy-retrofit costs for older buildings, masonry-wall R-value, and fire-resistive material thickness for structural steel. Also reviews HardHatCalc blog content on gutter sizing and R-value selection for insulation choices.

Doc. dr. sc. Mladenka Juradin, dipl. ing. građ.Concrete, Aggregates & Structural Materials

PhD, Civil Engineering (FCEAG, University of Split). University of Split, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy (FCEAG). Doc. dr. sc. Mladenka Juradin is a docent at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Architecture and Geodesy at the University of Split. Her research and teaching cover concrete technology and mix design, fresh and hardened concrete properties, aggregate behaviour, mortar and masonry materials, reinforced-concrete structural design, and material take-off methods for residential and light commercial construction.

Reviews HardHatCalc structural-pillar content end-to-end — concrete mix ratios and slab weights, footings and slabs, rebar reinforcement and lap splices, steel and wood beam sizing, framing and load-bearing wall sizing, deck and roof framing, retaining walls, staircases, and formwork pressure. Also reviews materials-pillar content on aggregates (gravel, sand, excavation volume), masonry (brick, mortar, grout, thinset, tile adhesive), drywall and joint compound, concrete driveways and paving, finish coatings, cabinetry, welding consumables and deposition, fence and pergola framing, septic and stormwater drainage structures, and general material take-offs and sizing. Reviews blog content on concrete mix ratios, load-bearing walls, beam comparisons, drywall estimating, roofing material take-offs, paint coverage, tile adhesive types, truss pricing, welding cost, and deck materials.
